Folic acid – an essential vitamin for our body

Folic acid is substantially involved in blood formation, the production of red and white blood cells, and in the growth and reproduction of our cells. Folic acid is indispensable for all development and replacement processes in our body. Incidentally, also for the healthy development of an unborn child.

Folic acid needs vitamin B12 to fully exert its effect. Therefore, it is reasonable to take vitamin B12 in addition to folic acid. Folic acid and vitamin B12 deficiency can lead to a higher homocysteine level. Homocysteine is regarded as risk factor for various diseases. If the homocysteine level is elevated in the blood, the risk for cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, thromboses and strokes increases. The same can be said for depressive moods, depressions or Alzheimer's dementia and pregnancy complications.

Folgamma® is a combination of the active ingredients vitamin B12 and folic acid. Folgamma® is especially suitable for treating folic acid and vitamin B12 deficiencies.
