Prevention of vitamin C deficiency if sufficient supply cannot be secured through a healthy diet. Therapy of vitamin C deficiency diseases.

Dosage and use

Vitamin C deficiency: adults get 200-1,000 mg ascrobic acid per day until the symptoms ease. This equals one to two Vitamin C 500 tablets per day.

Prevention of vitamin C deficiency, if not possible to supply 50-200 mg ascorbic acid per day through a healthy diet, equals one Vitamin C 500 tablet every second or third day.

The tablets have to be taken unchewed with sufficient liquid. Duration of the administration depends on the clinical picture and the laboratory diagnostic parameters.

One tablet contains 500 mg ascorbic acid. Excipient: microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate (Ph.Eur.), corn starch, lactose-monohydrate, talcum, Hypromellose. For other ingredients, please refer to the direction for use.

For prevention and treatment of vitamin C deficiency

We need vitamin C (ascorbic acid) as essential nutrient and depend on exogenous intake. The best vitamin C sources are freshly harvested fruit and vegetables. However, vitamin C is sensitive to oxygen, light and heat. Therefore, long storage periods and long cooking processes must be avoided – they can lead to vitamin loss.

If the vitamin C level is too low due to an underlying disease or insufficient intake through the diet, this undersupply should be balanced by taking Vitamin C 500 Filmtabletten.
